Quality Control

Bush Construction Company, Inc. always strives to provide a high quality product to our clients for the best possible value. We have established a reputation as a general contracting firm who is client oriented and delivers a product of the highest quality on time and within an established budget. This reputation is due to the fact that all BCCI employees and the subcontractors it works with on a regular basis care about doing things right and doing it the best way possible. The following information is a brief summary of the BCCI quality control program and how it would apply to your project.

The overall quality control of a BCCI construction project is the responsibility of the project manager. The project manager makes sure that the required performance and technical characteristics as described by the construction documents are obtained in the end product. The project manager is assisted by the project superintendent who is responsible for the on-site quality of the work as it progresses. Both the project manager and the project superintendent enforce the guidelines of the construction drawings and specifications and make sure that they are followed by everyone.

The project manager issues contract agreements to the subcontractors requiring their work to be completed in accordance with the construction documents. All subcontractors are required to submit shop drawings, samples, and product information describing the methods and materials that will be used to complete their work. These submittals are checked by the project manager and forwarded to the design professional for their review. If the submittals are returned to the project manager approved or approved as noted from the design professional, then a copy is forwarded to the subcontractor and the project superintendent and a copy is retained in the job file. The superintendent uses this information at the project site to verify that all delivered materials and the methods being used are in accordance with the construction documents. If the submittals are returned to the project manager not approved, then they are returned to the subcontractor. The subcontractor is then required to resubmit the correct information prior to proceeding with their work.

Although the project superintendent is responsible for the on-site quality control, the BCCI project manager and design professional will make site inspections as frequently as required to properly monitor and study the construction activities in progress. These site inspections help make sure there are no oversights in quality and confirm that the work is completed in accordance with the construction documents. If any work is ever found not to be in compliance, then it will be stopped and corrected immediately.
